“Professional empowerment of women and promoting women’s entrepreneurship in the labour market”
The presentation will introduce some of the main issues and features that are connected to full and equal access of women into labour market.
A twofold perspective will be considered. Access to labour market, as employees, and entrepreneurship.
What are the main obstacles still preventing full professional empowerment and still limiting the access to female talents and skills in the business and entrepreneurship?
What are the main suggestions and recommendations to ensure full empowerment by supporting gender equality and gender mainstreaming?
Who are the key actors that can support social and economic growth through gender equality?
About the speakers
Dr Jolanta Reingarde has been a senior researcher/analyst at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) since 2010. There she is presently leading a research team working on the Gender Equality Index and EIGE progress reports on the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action in the EU.
She studied Sociology at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (Lithuania), followed by a Ph.D on the topic of violence against women.
Jolanta has wide experience researching work-life balance issues, women and research, heteronormativity at work, men, fatherhood and masculinities.
Maurizio Mosca
Since 1995, Maurizio is working on EU affairs, related to social inclusion and employment policies.
From 2004 he was dealing with, as a researcher, on gender equality issues at national and European level.
Maurizio joined EIGE in February 2011 as gender expert for labour market and since then in charge of EIGE’s work on good practices on gender mainstreaming.
With a professional economic background, he has also been a trainer for public and private organisation on networking, mainstreaming and effectiveness of EU projects.
